Revamp Your Data Center Codvo's Industrial 4.0 Optimizes & Centralizes Globally

About the client

The client is a leading global data center service provider that offers a wide range of data center management solutions across geographies.

With multiple data centers across the world, the client has been serving large enterprises and small businesses alike with their cutting-edge data center solutions.

Overview

The client faced significant challenges in managing their data center infrastructure spread across multiple locations worldwide. The client's primary business challenge was to maintain uptime, mitigate costs, and manage complexity. The client's existing data center infrastructure management system was inefficient and lacked proper visibility and control, leading to an increase in downtime, higher operating costs, and increased complexity.

Business Challenge

The client required a centralized platform that could integrate functions like datacenter infrastructure management, power management systems, and building management systems to provide facility-wide insight and control for better performance. The client's key challenge was to implement a system that could optimize the utilization of the data center's resources and reduce downtime while mitigating costs. The client required a capacity planning tool that could recommend rack utilization based on power, cooling, network, and related KPIs. Additionally, the client required a system to control electrical systems such as MV/LV switching from the main power source to the generator system and powerquality waveform captures to detect voltage changes.

Our Approach and Solution

Codvo.ai's team of experts implemented a data center management solution across the client's geographies, integrating functions such as data center infrastructure management, power management systems, and building management systems. The platform covered all the critical aspects of the client's data center infrastructure, including HVAC, cooling systems like chillers and fans, data center equipment such as rack sensors, asset tracking, switch gear, power meters, electrical, UPS, rack PDU, battery, generators, fire package, heat and smoke detectors, security and access control, and SLA compliance & dashboards.

To address the client's business challenge of optimizing resource utilization, we developed a capacity planning tool that recommends rack utilization based on power, cooling, network, and related KPIs. We also implemented a system to control electrical systems such as MV/LV switching from the main power source to the generator system and power quality waveform captures to detect voltage changes. To provide better visibility and control, we developed a central integrated dashboard with map-based control, improving reporting, information management, and decision-making.
