Plant Engineering AgentNeIO Vertical Agent
NeIO Plant Engineering Agent · by Codvo

Connect your engineering drawings. Talk to your plant.

Your P&IDs, single-lines, datasheets and schedules each describe the same plant differently. The agent connects these unstructured documents into one context, so engineers can ask in plain language and get answers cited to the exact spot on each sheet.

Value for your engineers

Your plant is documented. Now it is searchable.

The same pump is described one way on the P&ID, another on its datasheet and a third in the equipment list. The agent connects them, so engineers can query them together.

01

One list from thousands of sheets

Every mention, on every sheet and revision, links to one tag page.

02

One asset, one name

Aliases join the same asset across mechanical, electrical, telecom and BMS names.

03

See what a change affects

The agent lists everything a change affects as a checklist, across disciplines.

04

Comments traced to every sheet

Each client comment is captured with the tags it touches and the other sheets that must change.

See it on a drawing

Click a tag. See the plant behind it.

The agent holds every drawing, schedule and note as one connected context. Click a tag, follow a change, or ask in plain language.

How it works

From a drawing set to a register you can trust.

The same five steps run on every package. Engineers only see the items that need them.

01Context packTeach it your conventions once

Upload your legend, tag rules, abbreviations and colour codes. Presets cover ISA-5.1 and IEC 81346; owner and project schemes are added in a form with a live test box, so each client's conventions are captured without a services project.

No custom code per clientRules your engineers own
02ReadingRead every sheet three ways

The PDF's own text layer, OCR and a drawing-aware vision model check each other. Overlapping tiles stop line numbers being cut off at the seams. Title blocks, schedules, tables, notes and the common P&ID and electrical symbols are read too, and poor scans are flagged before they are read.

Vector PDFs and scansBad scans flagged, not guessed
03ContextConnect every document into one context

Every mention, on every sheet and revision, links to one tag page. Sheet references, off-page connectors, instrument loops, feeders and port-to-port connections become typed links, each with its evidence. Aliases join the same asset across mechanical, electrical, telecom and BMS names. Uncertain matches are proposed, never merged silently.

Revisions kept, never overwrittenRegisters checked against drawings
04ReviewCheck exceptions, not everything

Each item carries a confidence score. Confident items are accepted in bulk; reader disagreements, merges and conflicts go to a Needs-you queue. Repeated corrections become project rules after a dry run that shows what will change.

Every decision audited
05ConverseAsk in plain language, assess impact, export

Ask a question the way an engineer would. The agent searches, follows links across drawings, datasheets and schedules, counts, and answers with citations, saying so when the documents don't support an answer. It can also list everything a change affects as a checklist. Every exported row links back to its evidence.

A deep link from every row

  1. Every answer cites the drawingEach statement links to the box it came from. Click it and the sheet opens at that spot.
  2. It says "not in the drawings"When nothing supports an answer, it says so rather than guessing.
  3. No connection without evidenceIt only states links it can show: a cross-reference, a connector, a loop or a register row.Line tracing it can't support is reported as such
  4. Raw readings are never overwrittenNormalised values sit beside the original text, and every rule effect is visible and reversible.
  5. It proposes, you confirmMerges, new rules and comment assignments arrive as cards an engineer approves.

Capabilities

Twelve capabilities. One agent.

Everything it takes to go from a drawing set to cited answers, before, during and after the read.

Before · Set up

01

Context pack

Your legend, tag rules, abbreviations and colour codes, with presets for ISA-5.1 and IEC 81346.

02

Reads what you keep

Vector and scanned PDFs, TIFF, PNG and JPG scans, datasheets and SharePoint libraries.

03

Registers seed the dictionary

Equipment lists, instrument indexes and cable schedules seed the tag dictionary.

During · Read and connect

04

Three-way reading

The PDF text layer, OCR and a drawing-aware vision model check each other.

05

One tag page

Every mention, on every sheet and revision, links to one tag page.

06

Typed links

Sheet references, off-page connectors, loops, feeders and port-to-port connections, each with its evidence.

After · Review and answer

07

Needs-you queue

Confident items are accepted in bulk. Disagreements, merges and conflicts wait for an engineer.

08

Cited answers

Answers link to the box they came from, and say so when the documents do not support one.

09

Impact checklists

Everything a change affects, as a checklist, with a deep link from every row.

Always on · Govern

10

Exports

Registers as XLSX, CSV and JSON, a read API and an asset hierarchy.

11

Project rules

Repeated corrections become project rules after a dry run that shows what will change.

12

Audit trail

Every decision audited. Revisions kept, never overwritten.

Privacy & security. Runs on NeIO inside your boundary, under NeIO Govern controls: single sign-on, project roles, a tamper-evident audit log and a per-project choice of hosted or local models.

FAQ

Questions we hear most.

What does it read?

Vector and scanned PDFs, TIFF, PNG and JPG scans, equipment datasheets, spec sheets and SharePoint libraries, plus equipment lists, instrument indexes, line and valve lists, cable and panel schedules, BMS point lists and document registers.

What do we get back?

A tag register, document register, instrument index, valve and line lists, equipment list, cable and connection list, loop and feeder lists, comment register, register gap reports and an asset hierarchy. All export as XLSX, CSV or JSON, or through a read API, filtered to reviewed items when you need them.

Does each client need custom set-up?

No custom code per client. Your legend, tag rules, abbreviations and colour codes go into a context pack, with presets for ISA-5.1 and IEC 81346. Owner and project schemes are added in a form with a live test box.

What happens when it is not sure?

Uncertain matches are proposed, never merged silently, and go to a Needs-you queue for an engineer. When nothing supports an answer, it says "not in the drawings" rather than guessing.

How do we start?

Start with a representative set of your own sheets.

  1. Share. Send 10–30 sheets and any registers.
  2. Configure. We load your conventions into the context pack. Your registers seed the tag dictionary.
  3. Read and review. The agent reads the set end to end. Your engineers work the Needs-you queue and label a few sheets as ground truth.
  4. Decide. Review accuracy on your labelled sheets, the register, impact checklists and cited answers, then agree what to roll out next.
